The Correct Answer is 'A' (kind of)

Ok - so I'm not still hung over from the soccer match.  However, after watching four hours of College Football Live yesterday afternoon on NASN, I got a little too fired up about the start of the college football season.  In this case, "a little too fired up" means that I went out for curry and got so hammered that by the time the LSU/Mississippi State game started at 1 am on NASN, I was passed out on the bathroom floor, using the toilet paper roll as a pillow.  I just woke up, so I not only missed the live telecast, but I also missed the replay this morning.  I still don't know who won.  What a rookie move.

As a result of my poor decision-making, The SportDork Football Spectacular has been re-scheduled for Tuesday.  I actually like the idea of doing a season preview after the season has already started - could be The SportDork's signature move.  Could also increase the accuracy of my predictions.

But before I punt (no pun intended.  Ok, maybe a little pun intended) on today's entry and completely shirk my responsibility to keep The SportDork Nation entertained, here is a must read article:

Thanks to Andrew for sending it in.  It may not be the smartest business move to be posting other people's work, but in my current condition, it's all I've got.  And this guy is really good.

Enjoy your Labor Day Weekend - and the 40+ hours of college football coverage.  Feels like Christmas morning, doesn't it?

 I leave you with this:

It just never gets old.

I found myself this morning thinking that I have become like Jealous Workaholic . . . a SportDork addict. I got to work this morning-checked my email-smiled when I saw the email notifying me of the new SportDork.com entry-went and grabbed my breakfast and then logged on to see what The SportDork had in store for me today. I took my first bite of toast while staring at the computer screen and that is when I realized I have a problem . . . Hi my name is Maria and I am a SportDorkoholic. However, I am alright with that. I guess that means that I am stuck on step 1--I am not in denial, but on the other hand, I am not looking to change either.

I can't say that I am so surprised with your overzealous beginning to the College Football Season. I am actually somewhat proud to see that your passion still is thriving.

Reading the other article you included (I tend to agree that this is not the wisest business decision) gave me an idea. I think when you come back to the States The SportDork should do a tour to all the SEC school venues (you can always expand to other lesser conferences) and report back to the SportDork faithful. I guess you would have to run that by Mrs. SportDork.

I will leave you with this--I am so FIRED UP about this weekend--yes, I know it is Western Kentucky, but it's MY GATORS! I will be thinking about The SportDork in the UK watching on his fuzzy laptop as I sweat my ass off in The Swamp

My second addict.  It doesn't get any better than this.  You know, I'm starting to think I was going about this the wrong way.  I've been focused on how many subscribers I get, but now I'm thinking that what I really need to be focused on is how many addicts I have.  Granted, the addict population may well be a sub-set of the subscriber population, but not necessarily.  There could be dozens of SportDork addicts out there who are too ashamed to become subscribers.  I've been stuck on 7 subscribers for a while now, but let's face it - that's meaningless when there could be countless numbers of addicts out there.  But how do I quantify the SDAP (SportDork Addict Population) for the benefit of potential advertisers?  Once again, you have given The SportDork much to contemplate.  Thank you for pushing me to new heights.

My Thursday night was ugly.  There was (from what I remember) Johnny Walker Black, some kind of vodka, triple sec, beer, Sambuca and, oh yeah - really spicy Indian food.  I find that extremely spicy Indian cuisine complements the nausea from no less than 5 different liquors quite nicely.  I just have to come to terms that outside of Mrs. SportDork, I have no greater passion than College Football.  (I have to make sure she reads this.  I'm seeing big points for The SportDork.)

A SportDork tour of SEC venues?  "Giddy at the prospect" is an understatement.  The word "Nirvana" comes to mind (as does "beer" and "fried food").

The Gators looked good this weekend.  The defense looked young and weak, but that was to be expected.  I hope you made it through the lightning.  I can't afford to lose one of my addicts.
